Another Pop N' Cuts Card!

Yesterday my cousin hosted an 80th birthday party for my aunt. My mom comes from a family of sixteen kids so you can just imagine how many people were there! I wanted to make my aunt a special card and Karen Burniston's Pop n' Cuts die was on my mind for her special day. Thank you AGAIN Karen for your 'GENIUS' abilities:) My aunt loves the victorian era, so I decided to use some images I purchased awhile ago from Lisa's Altered Arts (www.lisasalteredart.com). These were perfect for what I had in mind for her. I had cut some of these images out awhile ago, so I just glued them onto the card. I don't have a lot of sentiment stamps but found this little set of dollar stamps I purchased at Michaels and computer generated the additional words on the bottom front of the card. Die cut a strip for the bottom front and added a few gems. Fast and easy, that was the plan.....She loved it so I was glad I took the time to create it for her. Sorry for my awful photos but I was in a REAL hurry! Seems to be the norm lately:( Have a great week everyone and thanks for stopping by.... Hugs, DebbieK

Look what was waiting for me today!

I got a wonderful surprise in my mailbox today after lugging groceries in from the rain! A sweet gift from my very talented and thoughtful friend - Patti! I love this colorful decoration and it really made my day tucked in a clear bag with some candy too. I added a tie to the back of it so I can hang it on my door knob and admire it. It's just adorable!!! I'm a really lucky girl to have such a wonderful friend. Thank you, thank you, Sweet Patti! What was a rainy, gloomy day turned into a happy day for me;)

My brother and SIL are going to be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in a few days, so I came up with this quick card using my Sizzix Pop n' Cuts die! I didn't have a lot of time to create it so there wasn't a lot of detail involved - mainly preprinted scrapbooking paper. Still, the message is there and I'm certain they will enjoy it. I used a pre-cut Crafty Secrets frame (thank you Ms. Vicki), painted with Ranger snow capped paint. After it dried I rubbed some stickles over it to make it sparkle. Then I traced the frame and cut out a wedding photo of the couple to add behind it. I added some trims to the front of the card using red line tape and tucked a small bunch of mini flowers to the corner. For the inside I stamped an image of a bridal couple (Stamp Camp). Glued that to the top portion and used some metal numbers (Tim Holtz) to add to the 'pop' piece. Since the brads I had weren't the color I wanted, I chose to add gems where there were holes. I used a metallic gel pen around portions to give it more of a silvery look and sponged around the edges of the card with distress inks. Love how it turned out, much better than the photos I took. Simple but sweet!!! Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by:)

They're HERE!!!!

Oh my gosh.....I'm super excited as the new KAREN BURNISTON Pop n' Cuts dies are HERE! The other day I stopped in at a local Hobby Lobby store and there they were. I've been waiting for what seems like FOREVER for these Sizzix dies to hit the stores. My jaw actually dropped when my eye caught a glimse of them haning on the wall. There are just endless possibilities for these! Karen, in my opinion YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! I've already started a couple of cute cards and will post them soon. If you have a Hobby Lobby near by, better run out and get a few of these before they are all sold out (you can even use your 40% coupon on them too.) These are hot, hot, hot!!! Happy crafting everyone and thanks for stopping by:)

Halloween is coming.....!

Well, Suzanne Melvin (http://www.oxfordimpressionsstamps.com) did it again! She came up with not just one, but TWO new Halloween stamp collections - 'Apothecary Shop' and 'Masquerade'! Can you believe it?! Oh my gosh, I had so much fun with these two sets and am in love with them both, honestly! Thought I'd post a couple of the cards I made using them. So many possibilities with these images and no doubt about it, they are fabulous!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend everyone:)

I received a couple of the newest stamp sets from Suzanne over at Oxford Impressions (www.oxfordimpressionsstamps.com) not long ago and decided to post a few of the cards I made with them:) One is the updated version of 'Season of Giving' and the other is the newest 'Abraham Lincoln' plate. Both are great and can be used for a variety of purposes. These are a couple of my favorites. At first I was a bit stumped as to what I'd create with the 'Lincoln' set but then the ideas started flowing! Wish I had more time to create all the thoughts in my little brain...lol. Maybe I should give up sleeping. Just not enough hours in the day....! Oh well, hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by:)

Birthday card

My friend Linda's birthday was today and I presented her with this pop-up card I created from a Sizzix die (#657130) I recently bought at Hobby Lobby. When I asked her if she liked it she replied, "No, I don't like it, I LOVE it!" Needless to say I was so glad:) I used some rub-on butterflies for the outside of the card along with a paper punch for the lacy edge. (I think it might be a Martha Stewart punch, but not sure.) The girl image inside the card is from Paper Whimsey and the little die cut fence and flowers are from Memory Box.
Thought I'd post it as I haven't been creating (nor posting) much these past few months. This card was so much fun and with this die, I can see me making many, many more. Love these pop-up card bases and many thanks to Karen Burniston who created this particular one
! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.....
