They're HERE!!!!

Oh my gosh.....I'm super excited as the new KAREN BURNISTON Pop n' Cuts dies are HERE! The other day I stopped in at a local Hobby Lobby store and there they were. I've been waiting for what seems like FOREVER for these Sizzix dies to hit the stores. My jaw actually dropped when my eye caught a glimse of them haning on the wall. There are just endless possibilities for these! Karen, in my opinion YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! I've already started a couple of cute cards and will post them soon. If you have a Hobby Lobby near by, better run out and get a few of these before they are all sold out (you can even use your 40% coupon on them too.) These are hot, hot, hot!!! Happy crafting everyone and thanks for stopping by:)

Halloween is coming.....!

Well, Suzanne Melvin (http://www.oxfordimpressionsstamps.com) did it again! She came up with not just one, but TWO new Halloween stamp collections - 'Apothecary Shop' and 'Masquerade'! Can you believe it?! Oh my gosh, I had so much fun with these two sets and am in love with them both, honestly! Thought I'd post a couple of the cards I made using them. So many possibilities with these images and no doubt about it, they are fabulous!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend everyone:)

I received a couple of the newest stamp sets from Suzanne over at Oxford Impressions (www.oxfordimpressionsstamps.com) not long ago and decided to post a few of the cards I made with them:) One is the updated version of 'Season of Giving' and the other is the newest 'Abraham Lincoln' plate. Both are great and can be used for a variety of purposes. These are a couple of my favorites. At first I was a bit stumped as to what I'd create with the 'Lincoln' set but then the ideas started flowing! Wish I had more time to create all the thoughts in my little brain...lol. Maybe I should give up sleeping. Just not enough hours in the day....! Oh well, hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by:)

Birthday card

My friend Linda's birthday was today and I presented her with this pop-up card I created from a Sizzix die (#657130) I recently bought at Hobby Lobby. When I asked her if she liked it she replied, "No, I don't like it, I LOVE it!" Needless to say I was so glad:) I used some rub-on butterflies for the outside of the card along with a paper punch for the lacy edge. (I think it might be a Martha Stewart punch, but not sure.) The girl image inside the card is from Paper Whimsey and the little die cut fence and flowers are from Memory Box.
Thought I'd post it as I haven't been creating (nor posting) much these past few months. This card was so much fun and with this die, I can see me making many, many more. Love these pop-up card bases and many thanks to Karen Burniston who created this particular one
! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.....

Pop n' Cuts Class

It's been a rough several months on the homefront, just way too much going on. However, on a lighter side, my friend Linda and I attended a class at 'Stamp, Scrap & More' yesterday. I've had a passion for pop-ups since I was a child so this kind of thing is right up my alley:) Karen Burniston has come up with an amazing product that Sizzix is now manufacturing and we were lucky to attend this class and create four cards. I'm attaching a photo of one of my favorites. To see more of Karen's dies and cards, you might want to check out her blog - http://karenburniston.typepad.com/ Have a great week everyone and thanks for stopping by... Debbie

Once Upon A Time

My friend Linda and I attended summer CHA 2010 in Rosemont, IL and Sizzix was handing out a sweet little dress box die (#656598). Needless to say we were thrilled to get this and I immediately tucked mine away at home for someone special. Fast forward almost two years and one of my oldest and dearest friends announced that her daughter was getting married. "Perfect!" I told myself. Time to get busy making my little bridal box:)

I found this awesome empty box at a yard sale awhile ago that was used to house a man's cologne. It has a clear acetate cover and a lid that goes on top of that. Crumbled purple tissue paper was laid in it to surround my creation. I started the box by photocopying a picture of the bride (head and neck only) and adhering it onto lightweight chipboard, then cutting out. My next step was to attach it to the top portion of the dress. From there I added rows of gathered white crepe paper, some small strips of lavender ribbon, netting and a hand made rose cut from a small MFT die. I adhered several tiny pearls with glue and hand drew the necklace, adding a crown charm and more netting for her veil. For her arms I used pipe cleaners and again gathered a small strip of crepe paper for her sleeves. I added a die cut strip to the top of the box, some tiny punched butterflies and a banner that I stamped the words - "Once Upon A Time"(not sure what company the stamp was from). Needless to say she was thrilled with it and I was tickled that she liked it.

The funny part of this whole story is that I liked this DIE sooooo much that I actually ordered it on line, even though I don't own a Big Shot Pro machine to cut it out with yet...LOL!

Happy Easter eveyone! Hope the Easter bunny leaves you lots of chocolate:)

A nice surprise...

Received my complimentary copy of 'The Stampers Sampler' in the mail this past week. To my delight a submission I entered for their tempting template in 2007 was published on pg. 112. I used Oxford Impressions stamps from two sets - 'Playful' (scrabble tiles, star and 'A' stencil) and 'Season of Giving' (boy) to make a 4th of July card. I really liked how it turned out as it looked very vintage. This issue is filled with great ideas from a bunch of talented artists, so if you get a chance grab a copy for some inspiration! Hope everyone is enjoying what's left of the weekend;)
